We worked on a painting tonight called Summertime Flowers by Stefan Luchian. He was a Romanian painter in the late 19th century. His floral paintings are luscious and amazing. I will definitely be saving my pennies to purchase a book on his work. Tonight's painting was a ton of great color in an impressionist floral painting. Everyone did a fantastic job of mixing colors and making decisions. I think outlining the shapes before painting them was a great compositional help and offered an extra value punch. Next time, we may try a toned canvas. Good luck, everyone, with your homework paintings! Can't wait to see them.
