Bluebonnets

Lots of pretty flowers to keep our gorgeous trees company. We talked about the color mixing chart tonight, and we did some brushwork exercises so our trees would look alive. Very nice job, ladies. Welcome to our newest painter, Peggy!

As you work on these at home (or start new ones), remember to keep your brushwork loose and let those under layers peek through. No solid color! Think layers over layers. We want to see some of all of them. Also, symmetry works against us. Make sure to question your placement of objects. Are your flowers being social? Let your clumps talk amongst themselves! Vary your clump sizes and shapes. Play with your horizon line - do you want more sky and a bigger tree? Have fun with it.
